Fiji is a group of about 300 islands in the Pacific Ocean. It is less development than Australia and that is nice in a certain way. In Australia it is quite predictable what will happen and what you can expect. The first hours in Fiji we already experienced a somewhat chaotic airport pick up. We also visited a local family run store, open 24/7 and a bit run down, to buy bottled water (we are not sure if drinking tap water is safe here) and beer (in Australia you have to go to a liquor store).
We'll spend a week on the main island, in at least three different places. Of course, we'll be visiting beaches (yes, more beaches), but we're also meeting local families as we'll be staying at Airbnb.
