Reisverslag Great stuff

The Barossa Valley is a world famous wine region. Of course Jacob's Creek Visitor Center was one of our stops. We also stopped for some wine tasting at Whistler Wines cellar door. And we paid a visit to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop. Those of you who have watched the TV show Masterchef Australia are probably familiar with Maggie Beer and her passion for cooking with local products.
We travelled the Great Ocean Road for the first time in 2001. The drive along the coast line is still very beautiful. The early morning sunshine was perfect to take some nice pictures of The Bay of Islands. And even better, we were the only ones at this lookout point! Once we reached the lookout point at the 12 Apostles, i.e. the most famous part of the road, there was a serious crowd (of mainly visitors from Asia).
In hindsight one could argue we should have spent more time to travel from Adelaide to Melbourne. E.g. visit Grampians NP again or to watch the surfers in Torquay. However, despite the fact that we have four months to travel through Australia we have to be time conscious. It is a big place with lots to see and do!

Een paar dagen jullie trip niet erg gevolgd maar ik pak de draad weer op; benijdenswaardig om zo relaxed jullie onderweg te zien. Alweer 1 1/2 maand onderweg. Het gaat jullie wellicht ook te snel?!

Hi Paul and Lutske,
Great to hear the stories. Maggie Beer's place with local produce is quite well known for Masterchef Australia watchers like me. I printed the AFL tickets for Saturday's match in Melbourne and look forward to meet you both in Melbourne end of next week.
Have a great time.
